Date: 22 June 2014

For most of us Sunday is a day to relax, rejuvenate and plan for upcoming week. But for me today was kind of interesting and odd. Here are some weird and random events that happened earlier:

2.30 pm
It was an exam day for me and as usual I finished studying just in time. My paper was 50 MCQ’s, which should be answered in 60 min. I finished my exam in 15 min, then rechecked for another 10 min and walked out. Initially I was super excited to finish so early but then I gave it a thought and was wondering was I stupid to leave so early? Frankly I didn’t know what to do after I finished rechecking my answers. I was kind of bored. I guess only results will be prove my brilliance or folly.

Lesson: Sometimes we as human could be so overconfident or foolish.

4.30 pm
Sometimes I like to work out of coffee shop on Sunday’s. So I went to one of the popular coffee shops in Powai. Being a weekend it was crowded but fortunately a group just finished their meeting and I was happy that I got the corner seat which has power plug. When I was sitting I noticed that someone from previous group forgot their mobile, which they had plugged in for charging. So I quickly kept my bag on the chair and went to notify the group. One person came back, thanked me and left with his mobile. In the meanwhile my bag was displaced from chair to the floor and the table was taken by some lady. She looked affluent and was playing on her smart phone. She just ignored my presence. I thought of asking her that how my bag reached the floor from the chair where she sat. But it wasn’t worth it. By this time coffee shop was full and there weren’t any places to sit, so I had to leave the coffee shop.

Lesson: This incident really amazed me, reminded that how ruthless and opportunistic can we people be.

9.30 pm
An extremely drunk girl was walking ahead of me on my walk back home after the dinner. She was swinging like a pendulum and all of sudden she tripped and fell on the ground. As a curtesy I asked her “Do you need any help?” She replied “f**k off”. I was momentary shocked. I didn’t see any visual damage due to fall, so I assumed she was well and reluctantly walked away. When I looked back she was on her feet and walked in in one of the residential complex. I guess moral of the story is always be careful before offering your help, especially if you see a drunk person.

Lesson: We tend to judge a person based on perception which not necessarily true.

Well that concludes my interesting Sunday 🙂
